NHS Contract Changes
We would like to let you know that the GP services contract for:
- Solent GP Surgery,
- Nicholstown Surgery,
- Fanshawe Wing, Level B, Royal South Hants Hospital, Brinton Terrace Southampton, Hampshire, SO14 0YG
Is due to end on 31 March 2027. This includes:
- Adelaide Surgery,
- Western Community Hospital Campus,
- William Macleod Way, Millbrook, Southampton, SO16 4XE
- and Portswood Surgery, Portswood Solent Surgery, 7 Belmont Road, Portswood, Southampton, Hampshire, SO17 2GD
We are pleased to confirm that a new contract will be in place from 1 April 2027, ensuring that you will continue to receive GP services at the practice.
When a contract comes to an end, NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight is required to run a formal process to select the organisation that will provide services in the future. This process runs from May to December 2026.
We are committed to ensuring that patients continue to receive high-quality care, and your views and experiences are important in helping to shape future services.
You can share your feedback or ask questions in the following ways:
- Completing a paper survey available at the practice
- Completing the online survey
- Attending a drop-in session: Tuesday 14th July 2026,1pm to 3pm at Jubilee Room, Northam Community Centre, Kent Street, Southampton, SO14 5SP

We understand that this process may feel uncertain for both patients and staff. Please be assured that there are arrangements in place to support staff through any changes, and we kindly ask that everyone continues to treat staff with understanding and respect during this time.
NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight will continue to keep patients updated as the process progresses. Updates will be shared on the practice website, and patients will be notified of any significant developments by text message where appropriate.
There will be no interruption to your care, and services will continue to be provided as normal throughout this process.
