Prescription Requests

BACK TO MAIN INDEX

Our prescription team are processing on average 900 repeat prescription requests per week as well as dealing with a multitude of queries in relation to medication, which involves dealing with pharmacies and hospital departments on patients’ behalf.

In order to ensure that we can continue to manage your medication requests safely and effectively from Tuesday 19th April we ask that you allow 72 hours’ notice (3 working days) in order for us to process your medication request. For medications that are not on repeat the request may take slightly longer.

Whilst our prescribing team can support and resolve many of the medication queries the prescription still requires checking and signing by a GP.

Have you heard of the Electronic Repeat Dispensing Service?

This service allows for the GP to issue up to a years’ worth of repeat prescriptions for patients who are stable on their medication. This means that each month rather than having to request a new prescription from the surgery you can go straight to the pharmacy and pick up your medication when it is due. When you pick up your last prescription you will need to book a medication review. If you would like to know if you are eligible for this service, please contact the surgery.
